Listen Like Thieves was released in 1985 and was INXS' 5th album.
Heavy rock is where Listen Like Thieves was venturing and new band producer Englishman Chris Thomas (The Pretenders, Sex Pistols) had clear ideas how to take them there and beyond. Band dynamics reached an all time high for INXS with finely crafted songs such as ‘Kiss The Dirt (Falling Down The Mountain)’, ‘Shine Like It Does’ and ‘This Time’ contrasting the fierce attack of ‘Biting Bullets’, ‘Same Direction’ and ‘Red Red Sun’ to amazing effect. Late session recording ‘What You Need’ became a Top 5 hit in the US and paved the way for INXS on a worldwide level.

First Top 50 chart success in the UK.
Spends 81 weeks on the Australian charts and peaked at #3.
Reached #11 on the US charts

March 1986, Listen Like Thieves is certified triple platinum in Australia
