Coming three years after Kick, in 1990, X – album seven from INXS – continued the magic, but turned things in a more moody, cosmopolitan direction. Again produced by Chris Thomas, the album boasted charging hits ‘Suicide Blonde’ and ‘Disappear’ alongside deeper material such as ‘The Stairs’ and ‘Hear That Sound’. Absorbing the big bounce the band received from KickX, has become a centerpiece of emotions for the now departed Michael Hutchence. Elsewhere, tracks like ‘Faith In Each Other’ and ‘Lately’ show the group pushing out in musical directions all their own.

'X' peaked at #3 in Australia, #5 in the US, #2 in the UK, #5 in Switzerland and #10 in Sweden.
